J. Zaring Studio Build and Virtual Tour Videos

Building the J. Zaring photography & music studio…
A multi purpose studio built rock solid. From the floor to the ceiling done mostly by me over a period of 8 months with the exception of a pro electrician and a little advice and technique from my father and grandfather. A lot of research and learning was involved. The floor is way over braced and insulated for sound control. Walls are double layer drywall: glued and screwed with OSI drywall adhesive on the first layer and silicone and screws on the second. Mass loaded vinyl for extra sound reduction between rooms. More drywall mud and a combination of spanish knife and crows foot texture. Insulated with safe n sound, fiberglas and loose fiber anywhere i found gaps. Lots of spray foam etc. Completely air tight.  Steel and solid wood exterior doors throughout. Topping it off with oak laminate in the control room, tile in the iso booth and a combo of carpet and tile in the main room. Also, rough lumber for the baseboard and door trim. Its tough work and one of the most fun projects I’ve ever worked on.

Here’s the video from bare concrete to finished studio:

This is a video tour of my photography & music studio with a brief rundown of it’s construction.
